Ryan Adams did the right thing and covered Bryan Adams’ ‘Summer of ’69’’
13 years after an infamous heckle, Ryan took on the track in Nashville.
Ryan Adams has covered Bryan Adams’ ‘Summer of ’69’ for the first time, harking back to an incident 13 years ago when a heckler told him to play the track.
At the time, Adams didn’t find the heckle particularly funny. He had the person thrown out of the venue, and refused to play another note until security met his demands. The fan picked up a $30 refund, but only at the venue manager’s request. In 2006, Adams told Spin he ended up going to therapy after the incident.
But last night, while returning to the scene of the ‘crime’ - Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium - Adams went full circle on the incident and covered the 1985 classic. Somewhere, the heckler from 13 years back’s wish just came true.
