For real
Ryan Adams’ Taylor Swift covers album gets previewed by ‘All You Had To Do Was Stay’ and ‘Out of the Woods’
Adams has been posting in-the-studio photos of the process.
Yesterday, the Internet found its true purpose when Ryan Adams announced that he was working on a covers album for Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’, performed in the style of The Smiths.
He wasn’t joking. After Swift replied “I WILL PASS OUT” in response to the news, Adams then said he’d just finished making ‘Style’.
More updates have since arrived. He’s posted the first in-the-studio snippets of ‘Out of the Woods’ and ‘All You Had To Do Was Stay’, joking that the latter could be heard on the “Eddie & the Cruisers Part 3: Reverb Police soundtrack”. He also says his version of ‘Shake It Off’ has some “spooky” True Detective vibes.
Check out the in-the-studio updates below. This is really happening.
Festival special! Featuring Wolf Alice, Kasabian, Lykke Li, Marmozets, Genesis Owusu and more.
