Sam Akpro teams up with TYSON for new collab single ‘Wayside’
It’s the London native’s first new music since his debut album, ‘Evenfall’, dropped last year.

Peckham multi-hyphenate Sam Akpro has returned with ‘Wayside’, a dreamy new track that features guest vocals from fellow London luminary TYSON.
Out now via ANTI-, the joint single is a woozy, nocturnal number that sees the pair trade vocals over ephemeral layers of lush neo-soul instrumentation. It’s Sam’s first release since the arrival of ‘Evenfall’ - his immersive first full-length, which landed this time last year - and has been self-described as being “about moving from one change to another and the feeling of isolation that brings.”
Speaking more about her involvement, TYSON has shared: “When Sam asked me to be on this track I was struck by how much the lyrics resonated with me, like they could almost be thoughts in my own head. So I felt like I could comfortably climb into the track.
“I suppose it’s about being frustrated with yourself and life, going round and round in what feels like the same place forever, but there’s something hypnotic, meditative and soothing about it. I hope my vocals lend to that.”
