Sam Smith shares new version of ‘Stay With Me’, feat. Mary J. Blige

After selling over 100,000 copies of his debut album ‘In The Lonely Hour’ in the UK, Sam Smith has unveiled a new version of arms-in-the-air ballad ‘Stay With Me’. The special guest? Mary J. Blige.

A highlight from the debut, which currently sits pretty at #1 in the charts, very little differs in this version, with Blige stepping in for the second verse.

This isn’t the first UK artist Mary J. Blige has taken a liking to - she recently guested on a bouncier, new take of Disclosure’s ’ F For You’.

“I’m so honored to have had the chance to work with Sam Smith,” she said of the collaboration. “Sam’s true soulful voice… is the first of this kind I have heard since Luther Vandross, Freddie Jackson and all the great soulful male voices from the ‘80s. I’m completely blown away by his talent, soul and the sincerity.”
