Sampha: ‘That Was A Great Moment To Have In My Life’
He may have collaborated with the likes of SBTRKT and Solange, but there was one special performance in particular for Sampha.

The list of artists that Sampha has worked with over the past few years is both impressive and ever-growing. From being the main collaborator on SBTRKT’s breakthrough singles to teaming up with the likes of Jessie Ware and Solange, Sampha Sisay has gathered quite the impressive resumé.
Now, as the release of second EP marks the start of him concentrating more on his own solo work, it’s impossible to look back on his work with one certain Grammy winner without fondness.
‘It was really cool,’ Sisay tells DIY, of the time that Drake invited him to perform their collaboration ‘Too Much’ alongside him. ‘It was all quite surreal, to be honest. Even though Drake’s really quite down-to- earth and a humble guy, and a hospitable guy, the whole scenario was all quite… I wouldn’t say impromptu, but it was all quite last minute and a bit overwhelming.
‘It was a great experience for me to have and, you know, I really appreciated the fact that he invited me to do the performance with him. It was definitely something I think I’ll look back on and think, ‘that was a great moment to have in my life’.’
