Schultz and Forever previews new EP with ‘Silvia’ track
Danish songwriter Jonathan Schultz has an ear for the oddball - listen to his latest cut.
Copenhagen gets more curious by the second. When a band like Blaue Blume are giving a new take to dramatic, falsetto-ed, near operatic songwriting, lying somewhere in a dingy nearby basement is Jonathan Schultz, a musician seemingly raised on the same diet of under ether earworms as Ariel Pink and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
Comparisons to Connan Mockasin run wild in latest Schultz and Forever track ‘Silvia’, too, which mixes a creepy-guy vibe with purred delivery. Schultz sounds like the last dreg of a dodgy night on the town, the final customer mopping his fro in a puddle of beer in the hope it’ll make him more drunk.
New EP ‘Broadcast Dynamics’ is out 13th October.
