See lots of videos of famous musicians covering Brian Wilson
Bethany Cosentino and The Flaming Lips among them.
Monday saw the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles play host to ‘lots of people’, all there to celebrate the work of Brian Wilson.
The Flaming Lips, Bethany Cosentino and Norah Jones were among the acts appearing at the event, titled ‘Brian Fest’, each covering songs from Wilson’s legendary back catalogue.
Obviously - it’s 2015, guys - there were plenty of people with filming devices in the room - so it’s possible to see The Flaming Lips’ take on ‘Good Vibrations’, Bethany Cosentino perform ‘Don’t Worry Baby’, Kesha take on ‘California Girls’ and Wilson Philips do ‘In My Room’ in typical gig-vid quality.
Brian Wilson releases eleventh album, ‘No Pier Pressure’ next week (7th April), featuring guest spots from Zooey Deschanel, Nate Ruess and country artist Kacey Musgraves - but not, as reported, Lana Del Rey or Frank Ocean - the former “cancelled out” while Ocean “wanted to do rap”.
Featuring SOFT PLAY, Corinne Bailey Rae, 86TVs, English Teacher and more!
