Listen:
SHAME deliver a tongue-in-cheek “ode” on ‘Visa Vulture’
They’ve also signed to Dead Oceans and announced new tour dates!
SHAME have signed to new label Dead Oceans and to celebrate,
they’ve only gone and made their track ‘Visa Vulture more widely available’!
Long-time fans of SHAME will no doubt already be familiar
with the song, which is a bit of a tongue in cheek, ahem, “ode” to Theresa May
with the refrain of “won’t you let me stay” just being all the more chilling in
light of political events in the last twelve months (and what might happen in a
couple of days time).
In a statement, they said of the track: “We wrote Visa
Vulture when May was only Home Secretary and we’re happy to make it widely
available on the eve of probably the most important election we’ll ever vote in
as a rallying cry, a wish that we’ll never have to pen another Tory bashing
song for at least another 5 years come June 8th”.
As well as signing to a new label and officially releasing
the track, SHAME have also announced a new bunch of tour dates. They’ll be off
around the UK and Europe for a headline tour in October, and you can see all
their forthcoming shows here.
