Shame preview ‘Cutthroat’ with ‘Spartak’
The outfit’s fourth album is released next month.

With weeks to go until fourth full-length ‘Cutthroat’ is set to hit physical and digital shelves, Shame have opted to preview the record with another track, this one titled ‘Spartak’.
It follows ‘Quiet Life’ last month, and its title track unveiled alongside news of the record’s existence back in June.
“I was basically trying to write a Wilco song,” says the band’s Sean Coyle-Smith.
The song’s accompanying video was directed by frontman Charlie Steen, who adds: “I guess this disdain towards cliques comes from how shit I was made to feel by the cool kids growing up. I was a chubby teenager who liked the wrong type of music and wore the wrong type of clothes. It’s just another time I’d like to say fuck you to those people, and to anyone who makes someone feel shitty for not fitting in.”
‘Cutthroat’ is set for release on 5th September. See the latest issue of DIY for an interview with the band previewing the record.
Shame are on the road from late September, with a series of UK and Irish tour dates in November.
