Shlohmo airs an unsettling video for ‘Buried’
Producer creates a Lynch-ian visual for his stark track
Producer Shlohmo has shared a video for ‘Buried’, the first single taken from his upcoming album ‘Dark Red’, which is out 6th April via True Panther/Wedidit.
Directed by Lance Drake, Shlohmo explains that the video’s theme attempts to explore “the circle of life and death”.
With some parts reminiscent of David Lynch’s ‘Twin Peaks’ and ‘Lost Highway’, it depicts a pregnant woman wandering L.A. at night, being stalked by the camera. Covered in a blood-soaked blanket it ends with her breaking into a car, screaming as she presumably enters labour. There’s close ups of exotic flowers, an unexplained flashing light and plenty of gore to accompany Shlohmo’s stark soundtrack, which would perhaps get a nod of approval from Lynch himself.
