Tonight marked Annie Mac’s first time in the weekday evening slot’s esteemed chair, taking over from Zane Lowe. There was no shortage of new music, and the show’s Future Exclusive came from Shura, who’s back with a brand new song ‘2Shy’

A gaudy honest pop ballad of the highest calibre, ‘2Shy’ tackles an old chestnut; fancying your mate but not wanting to wreck everything by putting your cards on the table. “Through talking about things everyone connects with, Shura’s writing finds a substantial, genuine weight,” reckons DIY’s El Hunt, giving her initial verdict. “We’ve all been there walking home in the early hours, sometimes with an irresponsible rollie clutched in our hands, sometimes blasting power ballads through headphones, but always replaying conversations over and over.” Head here to read the full review.

‘2Shy’ is the fourth single to come from Shura, who plays a sold out show at London’s Village Underground later this month, on the 25th March.
