London festival Citadel has announced its first headliners for 2016, in the shape of Icelandic giants Sigur Rós.
The group will be playing just two UK shows next year, a couple of years on from the release of most recent LP ‘Kveikur’.
“In the spirit of adventure, all we can say right now is it’s going to be different,” they say. “In addition to playing all the songs you know and love, there will be new unreleased songs, a new show and more… Trust us on this one.”
Citadel’s inaugural festival took place this year, hosting Bombay Bicycle Club, Leon Bridges, Ben Howard and Kurt Vile. It returns on Sunday 17th July, with tickets on sale from Tuesday 1st December at 9am.
To register for a pre-sale, head to the Citadel site from today, Tuesday 24th November. The pre-sale starts on Thursday 26th November at 9am.
