Sigur Rós mark ‘Ágætis byrjun’’s anniversary with concert stream

To mark the 16 year anniversary of their ‘Ágætis byrjun’ album, Sigur Rós are tonight live-streaming a concert that took place 16 years ago on this very day.

The group played a show at the Icelandic Opera House back on 12th June 1999. Those wanting to watch the concert in full will need to tune in from 9pm GMT - again, exactly at the same time as its starting time, back in the day - on the Sigur Rós website.

A 16th anniversary edition of ‘Ágætis byrjun’ is set to come out later this year, bringing together rare cuts and unreleased recordings. It’ll also feature audio from the Icelandic Opera House show.
