Empire State Bastard announce debut album ‘Rivers of Heresy

The duo’s debut promises to be “as misanthropic and nihilistic as I’ve ever written”.

Empire State Bastard - the project of Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil and their longtime live guitarist Mike Vennart - have announced details of their debut album.

The duo will release their first full-length ‘Rivers of Heresy’ on 1st September. The news follows from their debut single ‘Harvest’, which came out earlier this year ahead of their first ever live shows.

Speaking about the process of making the album, Mike has said: “I set about making the most fucking poisonous vile music I possibly could, just unabridged hatred in musical form.” Simon has hinted that “Lyrically, it’s as misanthropic and nihilistic as I’ve ever written.”

The album will also feature Dave Lombardo of Slayer on drumming duties. Check out the record’s tracklisting below.
