Sir Chloe announces second album 'Swallow The Knife' and shares new track ‘The Hole’ • News • DIY Magazine

Indie-rock artist Sir Chloe is back with a brand new album! The acclaimed singer-songwriter Dana Foote will be releasing their second album Swallow The Knife on 22nd August this year.

The new record was recorded in London with Sir Chloe writing and singing, playing guitar and synth on all 11 tracks. Meanwhile, drums were played by Sarah Jones (who plays with Harry Styles) and production was done by Hayley Williams producer, Steph Marziano.

The record announcement comes alongside the brand new track, ‘The Hole’, which was apparently written after an emotional few months. “At the time I wrote this song I was in a deep, dark, ugly place with no escape in sight,” says the artist on the new track.

‘The Hole’ was inspired when Sir Chloe went to the MASS MOCA exhibition by Taryn Simon called ‘The Cold Hole’. “It was a snow covered room with a deep black circular ice plunge in the middle,” they explain. “Museum goers could volunteer to plunge while viewers watched as though it were a zoo exhibit. After I saw ‘The Cold Hole,’ I called the deep dark winters of our lives ‘The Hole.’”

The new record and single news is shared with an announcement of a giant North American tour in which the artist will visit 36 date - including stops in New York and Los Angeles.
