U2, mate
Slaves say funniest thing ever to Bono, Bono walks away
Last night’s episode of Jools played host to a very awkward celebrity encounter.

It’s Drenge versus Kanye all over again - plucky new names meeting musical Gods on Jools Holland and sort of fucking it up.
Slaves convened with U2 frontman Bono last night following performances on this week’s edition of Later…
The experience, as relayed by Slaves on Facebook, makes for 2014’s most unforgettable celebrity encounter.
“Bono came up to me after our performance yesterday, he shook my hand and said “You were great in there man.” And without thinking I just responded saying “Cheers mate U2.” Realising what I’d just done I began to laugh. Bono didn’t laugh. Bono walked away.
Might as well just give up now.
Cheers.”
Last year, Drenge tried to give Kanye’s bodyguard a CD of their album. Not quite as embarrassing as failing to pick up a hearty Irish guffaw with a classic pun.
