Snail Mail drops latest ‘Ricochet’ preview ‘My Maker’
Lindsey Jordan’s third LP is due out next month.

Snail Mail has followed up the recent announcement of her new album ‘Ricochet’ - which is set to hit shelves on 27th March via Matador - with its second single, ‘My Maker’.
Co-produced by the project’s own Lindsey Jordan (alongside Momma bassist Aron Kobayashi Ritch), the track follows grungy recent cut ‘Dead End’ and finds Lindsey in a meditative mood, musing on flights to heaven and airport tipples. She’s described it as “the lyrical jumping off point of the record”, noting that ‘My Maker’ became “the anchor that helped [her] build the rest of the album around it”.
Explaining more about the song’s central concept - which is continued in earnest in its single-take music video - Lindsey has recalled: “I kept thinking about the line “it’s just sky,” which obviously meant we had to make a video in a hot air balloon. It took six canceled rides for that to happen, but we finally got up there. I wanted the video to reference the lyrics about mortality, but also about the freedom that comes with realizing fate is out of your hands.”
