Sónar Festival Announces New Additions
New Order, James Murphy, The 2 Bears and more added to Europe’s premier festival of advanced music and new media.
Sónar Festival 2012 has added over 40 new additions to an already impressive line up. The festival, which aims to showcase the best in advanced music and new media art, has announced British house duo The 2 Bears, the expansive electronica of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and South African hip-hop group Die Antwoord, among others.
Most exciting, however, is the news that both New Order and James Murphy are set to appear, the latter performing a rare session of house and disco classics from his personal collection. Further confirmations are due in the coming weeks, adding depth to a program that already contains the likes of Lana Del Rey, Hot Chip, FatBoy Slim, John Talalbot, and Friendly Fires. The full program can be viewed here.
Sónar Festival takes place over the 14th, 15th, and 16th June, in Barcelona, with tickets available from €39 for a day pass. Full information can be found here.
