Speelburg directs his way through second track, ‘Kline’

It’s no coincidence that Belgian via US newcomer Speelburg (almost) shares a name with one of the directing greats. He’s a cinema fan with an unhinged passion, filtering its way into early tracks worthy of their own 3D display.

First came ‘Aubrey’, a gloomy burst of slick pop sharing plenty in common with Darkside’s only LP. Following a Bondax collaboration in ‘Something Good’, in arrives ‘Kline’, a second track that again paints its own picture.

This one’s about the daydreaming kid, staring out their window for a flicker of inspiration. “Dead and gone” runs the downbeat but oddly uplifting chorus. A cinema obsessive by name and trade, ‘Kline’ might be the first sign that Speelburg’s preparing to pen a blockbuster.
