Squid share new single ‘The Hearth And Circle Round Fire’ ahead of biggest ever live show
The forthcoming gig will take place at Camden’s famous Roundhouse venue.

Squid have shared a brand new track titled ‘The Hearth And Circle Round Fire’. The scratchy new single comes just ahead of the Brighton band’s biggest headline show to date at The Roundhouse in Camden, London on Saturday 26th April.
The five-piece have also announced a special merch pop-up at the Colonel Fawcett this weekend, at which fans will be able to purchase a deluxe version of their third album ‘Cowards’.
“‘The Hearth And Circle Round Fire’ is a punky tune that came together quite easily but we felt dissatisfied with that ease and decided to record it as a 15 minute jam, rip it apart and tape it back together,” said the bands vocalist and drummer, Ollie Judge, on the obtuse new single.
“Lyrically, it was inspired by the dystopian worlds of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 and Kay Dick’s They, worlds which everyday people succumb to mass censorship and propaganda with only a small amount of people willing to fight against it,” he added.
The Roundhouse gig comes just before the band set off on a major North American tour, stopping in the likes of LA, Washington DC and New York.
