Sulky Boy unveils ‘Balkan Baby’ from new Brighton-based compilation

Daniel Taylor’s Sulky Boy project put its first foot forward back in 2014, where the Brighton crooner delivered simple, romantic pop like he was raised watching Blind Date.

On new song ‘Balkan Baby’, Taylor’s delivery is no less loved up, only this time his attention turns towards a specific someone.

There’s a girl in his life on the brink of leaving him for dead, this song being a declaration of affection sung from the rooftops before she “goes back East”. Within the track, Sulky Boy seems to make more of an ‘against’ than a ‘for’ case - “you’re not good for me,” he sobs, admitting that he’s not the intriguing, cool kid who’d read books outside tucked-away cafes. The ‘Balkan Baby’ might be long gone, but we’re big fans - listen below.

Sulky Boy’s new track features on the first ever compilation from Brighton label Echochamp - look out for more details on Bandcamp very soon, and catch up with cuts from Gus Taylor and Paeris Giles. We debuted a track from Manuka Honeys.
