Swim Deep introduce fifth album ‘Hum’ with lead single ‘Pieces Of You’
The Birmingham band have once again teamed up with Bill Ryder-Jones for the new record, which is due out in June.

Birmingham indie stalwarts Swim Deep have announced that their fifth LP, ‘Hum’, will arrive on 19th June via Submarine Cat Records.
The successor to their 2024 effort ‘There’s A Big Star Outside’, the band’s hopeful next outing has been previewed by way of new song ‘Pieces Of You’ - an anthemic, ’90s-inspired cut that comes accompanied by a nostalgic video featuring a flag emblazoned with their iconic double-wave logo.
Describing the visualiser, keyboardist James Balmont has said: “It looks like Band of Brothers or some kind of army faction struggling to plant the victory flag in the ground. That, for me, really sums this album – we’ve been through this struggle, and now we’ve all come together to plant this very victorious feeling.”
Produced by frequent collaborator Bill Ryder-Jones (who worked on ‘There’s A Big Star Outside’, as well as joining Swim Deep as touring guitarist last year), ‘Hum’ was also shaped by a more unexpected influence - namely, J.J Buchanan, who vocalist Austin “Ozzy” Williams met during his bartending day job. “A sharp songwriter and a soaring guitarist, [he] brought something fresh to this song and the whole sonic landscape that would shape ‘Hum’,” Williams explains.
