TĀLĀ shares ‘Alchemy’ track, announces new 12”
Hear the South London producer take another step up on her latest cut.
‘Alchemy’ marks the first time that South London producer TĀLĀ’s put her vocals at the forefront of skittering, world-influence-absorbing pop, but that doesn’t make it any less of an extreme turn than everything released so far.
Up to now, in an eye-opening 2014 TĀLĀ has shared her debut EP ‘The Duchess’, plus the destined-to-be-huge ‘Black Scorpio’ track. The latter features on a new 12” alongside ‘Alchemy’, with both songs sharing a strange kinship. Time and time again this emerging talent seems to take her production to another level, like she’s explored the world in a matter of seconds and she’s ready to project these experiences into maddening, genre-meshing futuristic cuts.
This latest number is no exception - despite ‘Alchemy’’s verses sounding like the least ‘out there’ thing she’s put her name to, TĀLĀ flips the rulebook for an insane instrumental chorus that’ll take some topping.
