Tancred’s video for ‘Pens’ features Speedy Ortiz’s Sadie Dupuis

Jess Abbott, aka Tancred, released her new album ‘Out Of The Garden,’ a blast of bold, alt-rock energy, earlier in the year. Now one of its stand-out tracks, ‘Pens,’ has a brand new video featuring a familiar face.

Speedy Ortiz singer Sadie Dupuis makes a cameo in the clip, which sees her playing evil in human form after being summoned by an ancient ritual. There’s no shortage of darkness elsewhere in the video either, which takes inspiration from a tonne of horror movies and everyone’s favourite 80’s nostalgia-fest ‘Stranger Things.’ Keep your eyes out then, film buffs.

Abbott said in a statement: “I wanted to have my plain reality be slowly overcome by this shadowy underworld. I wanted evil to seem really seductive and just take me with it. But evil is still evil no matter how sexy it is so I still needed to die at the end.”
