Tei Shi streams new track, ‘Bassically’
Song’s taken from the NYC-based newcomer’s new release on Double Denim.
Argentina via NYC newcomer Tei Shi has refined her floating, ultra-inventive take on pop into something devilishly refined with ‘Bassically’.
Her new song brings together the outward-thinking of earlier efforts, only this time they’re placed under a hook-tastic bass line and a dazzling, quick-witted aesthetic that shares plenty in common with Peaking Lights’ latest ‘Cosmic Logic’ LP.
‘Bassically’damns the throwaway attitude of casual, bros-first boys, before bursting into the kind of impassioned vocal line that’d put everyday blog-pop to shame. This is serious business, the kind worthy of mad fanaticism.
A new Tei Shi release is forthcoming on Double Denim (Kero Kero Bonito, Outfit) in the UK. Mermaid Avenue are working with her in the States.
