Temples: ‘We’re Always In The Same Book’

If there’s one band who have made their psychedelia-tinged dreams a reality over the past few months, it’s Temples.

Expanding the already strong family that is Heavenly Records, the four-piece have spent the last year linking arms with the likes of TOY and Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs and igniting the flames of psych-rock gone by. It’s their self-belief, though, that’s allowed them to lay such solid foundations. If anything was important when it came to making music, it was that they all put their whole hearts into it.

“Everybody in the band likes the music,’ admits the band’s James Bagshaw. ‘We all really like what we do, artistically, and we’re very proud of it. It sounds obvious but it’s why some bands don’t work, because you’ve got people pulling in different directions.’

It’s simple, but effective: ‘I feel like we’re often – not, sometimes, on the same page – but we’re always in the same book. We’re only ever a few pages away from each other.”
