The 1975 are releasing their new album this week, and headed to the Radio 1 Live Lounge yesterday (26th November).

The band played ‘It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)’ from the new record, out this Friday (30th November), and also performed a cover of Ariana Grande’s ‘thank u, next’.

The cover was a gospel-tinged version, punctuated by Matty Healy scrambling around to find the lyrics in time for the next line.

In our review of the band’s new album ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’, we said “the band put their flag in the ground as the most intriguing musical voice we have, creating a bombastic, immaculately put together portrait of modern life.” Read the review in full here.

The band are playing their first gig in over a year in Kingston on Thursday (29th November), before returning to the site of their first London gig at the Camden Assembly next week.

They’ve also been announced as the next headliner for the Glasgow Summer Sessions next summer, the same weekend that they headline this year’s Reading & Leeds.
