Idlewild guitarist / songwriter Rod Jones has been forced to postpone a bunch of dates he was due to play with his new project, The Birthday Suit.
The cancellations are due to a recurring shoulder injury. A statement made by Jones reads: ‘It’s with a heavy heart and sincere disappointment that we are forced to postpone the first leg of The Birthday Suit’s debut tour. A recurring shoulder injury has rendered me unable to play for up to 4 weeks. Dundee, Stirling and Glenrothes will go ahead in late Nov/Dec and we will be rescheduling all other dates for a February tour due to venue availability. We are all very thankful for your support and patience.’
The postponed shows are as follows:
OCTOBER
22 The Cluny, Newcastle
23 The Borderline, London
25 The End, Birmingham
26 Ruby Lounge, Manchester
27 King Tut’s, Glasgow
28 The Tunnels, Aberdeen
NOVEMBER
04 November - Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh
Whilst these will still go ahead:
NOVEMBER
25 Beat Generator, Dundee
26 Tollbooth, Stirling
DECEMBER
09 Greenside Hotel, Glenrothes
The Birthday Suit’s debut album, ‘The Eleventh Hour’, will be released on 11th November.
