The Death of Pop preview new EP with ‘Mirage’ track
Art Is Hard are putting out a shiny blue flexidisc EP this summer.
If delay pedals were suddenly culled from all music, what would the impact be? A fair few chancers might have to step under the spotlight, rough edges there to be prodded at. Others might just disappear. The Death of Pop have been working on reverb-driven guitar pop for a couple of years now, but they’ve been improving with every step. They’ve proven that, regardless of form, their songwriting chops are of the highest order. They might even survive in a delay-purged parallel universe.
New track ‘Mirage’ - taken from the ‘Fifths’ EP, out 4th August - is a driven, colossal, lumbering beast of a track. It moves wild and without an endpoint. It careers sidewards, barges into any unfortunate soul to cross its path. It’s proof that The Death of Pop are really onto something.
The EP is released as a 7” flexidisc record, (that’s it up there!) plus a 24-page zine. ‘Mirage’ is the track that’s playable on the flexidisc - the rest are available as an MP3 download.
Pre-order ‘Fifths’ via Art Is Hard Records now.
