The Flaming Lips and Miley Cyrus are working on an album together

Miley Cyrus and The Flaming Lips are working on album together, and in a new interview, Wayne Coyne revealed that the seven-track record is nearly done.

It’s not the first time that Miley Cyrus has worked with the band, and she previously appeared on their Beatles cover album ‘With A Little Help From My Fwends’. She was writing and recording together with the band last year at her house in LA, as well as the Lips’ studio in Oklahoma. “Some of it reminds me of Pink Floyd and Portishead,” said Coyne, of the sound. There is no set release date for the album as of yet.

“She does the pop thing so great, so it still feels pop, but a slightly wiser, sadder, more true version,” Wayne Coyne told Billboard, speaking about Miley Cyrus. “She can fucking sing. She can do 100 takes, and they’ll all be different and good.”
