The Hives are back with new single ‘I’m Alive’, and their first album in 7 years on the way

Sweden’s finest share a punchy comeback single via Jack White’s Third Man Records

They of synchronised outfits and longstanding indie earworms, The Hives, have returned with a new single ‘I’m Alive’ and the promise of a long-awaited new album.

The appropriately named new track is a bold and brash return, to be released as a limited edition 7” via Jack White’s Third Man Records on June 7.

Says lead singer Pelle Almqvist, succinctly: “I’m Alive is a song about crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance that sounds like crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance because it is a band crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance. Use it in your own life to help you obliterate your own resistance!”

As for the new album, there’s as yet no release date or title, but we’re promised an LP in early 2020. Have a read of our review of their last record ‘Lex Hives’ from back in 2012 here.
