The Hives offer up rousing call-to-arms ‘Legalize Living’

Their latest track sees the International Rock Sensations take inspo from “Michael Douglas in Falling Down”.

The Hives share call-to-arms new single 'Legalize Living'

The Hives are back with another taste of what to expect from their forthcoming seventh studio album ‘The Hives Forever Forever The Hives’ (out on 29th August via Play It Again Sam), having just dropped its latest preview single ‘Legalize Living’.

The song follows ‘Enough Is Enough’ and ‘Paint A Picture’ to be the third track lifted from the new LP, and is a typically tight slice of rollicking rock’n’roll that acts as the band’s manifesto against the corporate machine. Speaking on the single, they expand: “Have you ever felt as though life is strangling you a little bit every day? Like a tight rollneck or the hands of an invisible garden gnome?

“Do you feel like they are putting you in ever smaller cages and on ever tighter schedules? Are you relating to Michael Douglas in Falling Down? You are not crazy!” they continue. “Governments all over the world have slowly but surely taken steps to make living itself illegal. Stop normalizing this normalization! Join The Hives in the campaign for the legalization of living across all countries! Things must change now!”
