Hot on the heels of their huge European tour supporting Arctic Monkeys, The Hives have shared a pair of two new tracks taken from their imminent sixth studio album, ‘The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons’. The singles follow recent drops ‘Rigor Mortis Radio’, ‘Countdown To Shutdown’ and ‘Bogus Operandi’, and serve as the final album teaser before its release next week (11th August).

Clocking in at just over one minute long, ‘Trapdoor Solution’ is a rollicking affair, launching into thrashing punk riffs and 100mph energy from the off. ‘The Bomb’, meanwhile, is similarly succinct, centred around a driving beat and a raucous hook destined for festival singalongs.

‘The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons’ will be The Hives’ first album in a decade, and the band will mark the occasion with a series of UK in-stores and signings this month, after which they’ll take their famously rowdy live show to bigger venues across the UK next year.
