The Killers’ bassist Mark Stoermer quits touring
Fear not, he’ll still be on their next album.

The Killers’ bassist Mark Stoermer will be taking a break from touring, and won’t be hitting the road with the band as they take their new album around the world.
He’ll be involved in recording the new album - fear not - but will also be taking time out from tour to “pursue other educational goals”. In The Killers’ statement, the band also added ““Don’t be surprised if you see Mark on stage from time to time. Everyone in the band supports his decision.”
His replacement is thought to be Jake Blanton, who previously stood in for Mark Stoermer back in 2013.
The Killers are currently in the process of making a new record, with frontman Brandon Flowers confirming it late last year. Elton John also recently said that he’ll be flying out to Las Vegas to work on the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Battle Born’.
