The Killers Look Set To Return With New Album In 2012
It seems as though yet another hiatus draws to a close.

There seems to be a bit of a theme to this week. First off, we had Bloc Party unveiling plans to create this fourth album, and now The Killers have gone and ditched the hiatus too.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on his Radio 1 Breakfast Show yesterday morning (4th January), The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers revealed that the band will be releasing an album later in 2012.
In regards to the anticipated release date, he said: “It’s just whether it’s [released in] the summertime or the wintertime.”
Flowers also divulged some details of how it will sound, expelling that: “We don’t want to make Hot Fuss 2 or Sam’s Town 2, or Day & Age 2. We’ll maybe take all that stuff, the best of all of it and do what we know how to do.”
“I think the consensus within the band is to take those things that we’ve done well and really hone in on that.”
The Killers announced that they would be going on hiatus in 2010, after releasing their third album ‘Day & Age’ all the way back in 2008. Both Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vannucci have released solo albums during the downtime of the band, the former with ‘Flamingo’ in 2010 and the latter with ‘Big Talk’ last year.
