The Killers share ‘Sam’s Town’ demo, ‘Peace Of Mind’
The rarity features on a new re-released version of their ten year old second record.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of ‘Sam’s Town’, The Killers have re-released the record, alongside a previously shelved demo, ‘Peace Of Mind’.
As bombastic as the rest of the band’s second album, it’s framed around a stabbed piano and screeches of guitars. Frontman Brandon Flowers remains reflective as the bombast leaps upwards with every passing second. It’s as scrappy as they come, but perfectly reflects the newfound creative freedom The Killers unearthed in the Sam’s Town studio.
‘Sam’s Town’ is this month’s entry into the DIY Hall Of Fame - catch up with our retrospective on the record, and interview with Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. as he looks back on their now decade-old second baby.
The Killers recently entered the studio to start work on a new album - in the meantime, head down nostalgia lane with ‘Peace Of Mind’ below, via Spotify.
