The Kills ride rollercoasters in their new ‘Impossible Tracks’ video
Alison and Jamie had the run of an entire theme park in Australia - alright for some!
In their new music video, The Kills take the idea of “moving too fast on impossible tracks,” fairly literally. The visual for ‘Impossible Tracks’ sees Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince hopping aboard a rollercoaster. Luckily, they don’t try to play guitar at the same time.
Elsewhere, the band head into a neon-lit hall of mirrors, go on a scary whirly-round ride, and generally cavort around Luna Park; a theme park in Melbourne, Australia. ‘Impossible Tracks’ is taken from The Kills’ latest album ‘Ash & Ice’.
We’d always wanted to shoot there, so on our last tour down under, we took this fine opportunity,” says Alison in a press release, opting to set the scene as well. “Welcome to off season…winter time, blistering bitter cold, the park to ourselves all day and night,” she says. “The lights buzzing, the gears cranking, a hallucinatory stream of whiplash and spin. We shot between bursts of monsoon weather and crooked wind, we rode the rides, played the games, and lost ourselves in the mirror house. Enter in, the guts of the park, through the mouth of lights, Luna’s pearly teeth, past the big bad gaze of those glowing blue eyes. Buckle your belts and take the ride on ‘Impossible Tracks.’”
