The Libertines confirm signing to Virgin EMI
Deal inked out in Thailand where Pete Doherty is in rehab.
The Libertines have confirmed that the group have signed a record deal with Virgin EMI, which will hopefully pave the way for their long-awaited third album.
The deal was confirmed on Friday 5th December, after the other members of the group jetted out to negotiate with Pete Doherty, who is currently in a rehab course in Thailand.
The news follows a tour from earlier this year - including a Hyde Park reunion show - and in 2010 when the group headlined Reading & Leeds Festivals.
Carl Barat is also releasing an album with his new group The Jackals. ‘Let It Reign’ will be released 16th February. Featured below is footage of the group’s time together in Thailand, which has been shared along a press release with Barat and Doherty stating their happiness of reconvening.
