The Louisiana to host Heavy Lungs’ upcoming Bristol show with DIY & Fifth Floor

It’s not long now until the ferocious Heavy Lungs will be taking to the stage for a special hometown show, and now, we can reveal that the show’s secret location is, in fact, iconic Bristol venue The Louisiana!

For the show, which will take place this Friday 30th January, we’re proud to be teaming up with international concert promoters Fifth Floor, for what’s sure to be a brilliant display of the homegrown talent that a city’s independent venue scene can help to grow and nurture. 

Having first established themselves back in 2013 after hosting a secret warehouse show with The Murlocs in their hometown of Melbourne, Australia, Fifth Floor have since made a name for themselves with their secret show series, which has also featured the likes of Fat White Family, Carl Barat & The Jackals and more, and aims to champion urgent, guitar-driven artists in iconic grassroots UK music venues.

Because of this, The Louisiana feels like the perfect setting for their first show of 2026; an independent, family-run venue that’s been a key part of the wider music community for almost 40 years, over the decades, it’s played host to some of the most iconic names in music, like Amy Winehouse, Muse, Dua Lipa, The White Stripes, Florence + the Machine and many more. What’s more, it continues to be thriving home for new and emerging talent, with the likes of DIY favourites Jerkcurb, Paige Kennedy and Lime Garden all set to play there over the coming months.

With tickets now officially sold out, this weekend’s show is set to be an incredibly exciting one for the local scene especially, with Heavy Lungs playing alongside fellow Bristolians Milo’s Planes.
