The Movielife reform, announce New York show
The Long Island pop-punk outfit have returned, scheduling their first live show since 2011.
Fans of late 90s American Pop-Punk, rejoice. Yesterday (15th December) Long Island, New York five-piece The Movielife announced that they are reforming for shows, including unscheduled plans to come to the UK.
Speaking to Noisey, vocalist Vinnie Caruana stated;
“I think me and Brandon have reached this point in our lives where we can be at peace and be happy with playing Movielife shows, we feel right about it at the same time for the first time in a very long time.”
The group, who have reformed with the same members that broke up the band, consists of guitarists Brandon Reilly & Dan Navetta, bassist Phil Navetta and drummer Evan Baken. In their original stint, the band released three studio albums, It’s Go Time (1999), ‘This Time Next Year’ (2000) and ‘Forty Hour Train Back To Penn’ (2003). Former members of the group include Eddie Reyes, the founding member of Taking Back Sunday.
Their first gig back is a home-state show set for Friday, 7th February 2015, at Irving Plaza in New York. The band last played together in 2011.
Speaking about coming to the UK, Caruana talked positively about plans;
“I don’t think the UK would allow us to reunite and not come visit them. I think the hatred and frustration would implode the whole country, so we’re definitely going to come over there, I think. I mean, I’d like to. Brandon and I are the two biggest Anglophiles in the band, so the two of us definitely want to visit.”
Update: In a tweet to DIY, the band confirmed UK shows are happening.
Festival special! Featuring Wolf Alice, Kasabian, Lykke Li, Marmozets, Genesis Owusu and more.
