Dublin’s The Murder Capital make strong entrance on the storming post-punk of ‘Feeling Fades’
After shows with Shame, Fontaines DC and more, the band begin a UK tour at the end of the month.
There’s been a significant buzz around new Dublin rabble The Murder Capital of late, all without a single song available online.
A raucous, exciting session video for track ‘More Is Less’ and already notorious shows alongside the likes of Shame and Fontaines DC have made the Dubliners hot property from an extremely early stage, and they’ve now emerged with their first recorded material.
The tone for ‘Feeling Fades’ is set immediately, with James McGovern’s gravelly, straight-faced vocals more than able to carry its intro on their own, before blackened, sharp post-punk of Protomartyr’s ilk joining to back him up, surging like waves and creating the same nervous, edge-of-your-seat atmosphere that their live shows have been so well spoken of for.
As the track canters towards its end, McGovern’s vocals let loose from their powerful but comfortable stable into a barely contained howl, the wheels gloriously falling off the track as it ends in beautiful chaos.
