The National perform new song 'Prom Song 13th Century (Frankie and Johnny)' with St Vincent

At last night’s LA show, The National were joined by none other than Annie Clark, aka St Vincent, for a run-through of another new song from that supposedly sort-of incoming new album.

Titled ‘Keep (Frankie and Johnny)’, it’s a track that’s received a handful of airings to date (including one at their triumphant Latitude 2016 headline slot), but never like this. Taking to the stage at The Greek Theatre, Annie Clark joined Matt Berninger on vocal duties for the track’s heartbreaking refrain; “I’m gonna keep you in love with me / for a while.”

Watch fan-shot footage of the collaboration below. It joins Latitude’s link up with Chvrches’ Lauren Mayberry in The National’s recent all-star on-stage collab book.

Why yes, this is Annie Clark AKA St Vincent singing a new song with The National. Amazing. #concert

Update: Watch the full performance below — the song appears to have now been retitled Prom Song 13th Century (Frankie and Johnny). Indecisive bunch, this National lot.
