The odds are out for Adele’s next reign of the pop world
Anyone want to stick a tenner on her next album title NOT being a number? Thought not.
Not many artists get special odds offered out on their career, but then let’s be honest - not many artists are Adele. In fact, only one artist is Adele. That’s how it works. Never mind.
Anyway, Paddy Power are offering a number of specially created bets on just how mental Adele’s career is going to be over the next few months. If you’re a betting type, you can put money down on anything from whether she’ll do the next Bond tune, to whether she’ll finally sack off that numbered album titling system next time around. The bets being offered in question are:
Adele ‘25’ Specials
8/11 To have sold more copies than ‘21’ in the UK by the end of 2017
5/1 To be the UK highest selling album of all time by the end of 2017
5/4 Fourth studio album title to NOT be a number
4/6 To record another Bond song before 2025
1/4 To be the Saturday headliner at Glastonbury 2016
7/4 To win Album Of The Year Grammy
5/1 To have the 2016 UK Christmas number 1 single
Number Of Consecutive Weeks At UK No 1 Following Release
7/2 4 weeks or fewer
6/4 5 to 9 weeks
2/1 10 to 14 weeks
10/3 15 weeks or longer
8/1 To spend 25 consecutive weeks or more as UK number 1 album
40/1 To beat the all-time record for consecutive weeks as UK number 1 album
We’d be tempted to whack a tenner on that last one, but gambling is bad, so we won’t. In case you don’t have a head or something and managed to miss it, Adele dropped her new song ‘Hello’ today, and the album’s coming on November 20th. Read DIY’s verdict on the track here.
