The Rolling Stones Postpone Live Comeback But Will Release Documentary

The band look unlikely to tour in celebration of their 50th anniversary this year.

The Rolling Stones have revealed that it’s unlikely the band will embark upon a 50th anniversary tour this year.

However, Keith Richards has stated that 2013 is a new goal.

Speaking in an interview with Rolling Stone, Richards said: ‘Basically, we’re just not ready. I have a feeling that [2013]’s more realistic.’

Having remained quiet since their 2007 ‘A Bigger Bang’ tour, it was expected that the legendary band would return to stages worldwide, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the band’s birth. However, it’s now looking less than likely.

It has been revealed though, that Eagle Rock Entertainment will release an as yet untitled documentary about the band, celebrating the band’s fifty years of evolution.

Brett Morgen looks set to direct, and the film is expected to contain hours of never-before-seen footage.

‘For anyone who wants to experience the band, this is the film that will defy convention and create a sonic tapestry to transport viewers into the world of the Rolling Stones,” Morgen said in a statement. ‘The film will deliver the original, bold, sexy and dangerous flavor of the iconic rock band.’
