The Weeknd teases possible Cashmere Cat collab
All signs point to Abel Tesfaye working with the Norwegian producer.
After hinting at a Daft Punk collaboration earlier this week, The Weeknd’s shared a snippet of new music on Instagram, and it’s possibly another joint effort with Cashmere Cat.
An all-black image, is accompanied by a sparse, abstract bit of music from Abel Tesfaye, captioned simply with a cat emoji. A few beady-eyed followers have suggested that production on this new music could be by Cashmere Cat, and the snippet certainly bears many hallmarks of the Norwegian producer’s signature style.
Amping up the likelihood of a Cashmere Cat hook-up even further, the producer - real name Magnus August Høiberg - has been teasing a new song called ‘Wild Love’ from his new record, with the track landing on Friday. And The Weeknd, posting cat emoji at exactly the same time….? Makes you think, doesn’t it.
Either way, this is The Weeknd’s first new solo music since his 2015 album ‘Beauty Behind the Madness’. Listen below.
