Last night The xx celebrated the unveiling of their new album with their first performance in two years, on BBC Radio 1.
Taking to Annie Mac’s show, the trio played a bunch of music, including their new single ‘On Hold’. From their debut album (which recently joined the DIY Hall Of Fame), they performed ‘Basic Space’ and ‘Islands’, while from 2012’s ‘Coexist’ they let loose ‘Angels’ and ‘Fiction’. Excitingly, they also revealed a new, live mash-up of ‘Shelter’ and Jamie xx’s ‘Gosh’, the opening track from his solo album ‘In Colour’.

The xx’s new album ‘I See You’ is out 13th October via Young Turks, with the band lined up for the following shows in the coming months.
