Listen back to The xx’s live return on BBC Radio 1
The trio performed new single ‘On Hold’, a mash-up of ‘Shelter’ and Jamie xx’s ‘Gosh’, and more.
Last night The xx celebrated the unveiling of their new album with their first performance in two years, on BBC Radio 1.
Taking to Annie Mac’s show, the trio played a bunch of music, including their new single ‘On Hold’. From their debut album (which recently joined the DIY Hall Of Fame), they performed ‘Basic Space’ and ‘Islands’, while from 2012’s ‘Coexist’ they let loose ‘Angels’ and ‘Fiction’. Excitingly, they also revealed a new, live mash-up of ‘Shelter’ and Jamie xx’s ‘Gosh’, the opening track from his solo album ‘In Colour’.
Listen back to the full show here - the band have a little chat from the 30 minute mark, while the performance starts around 1:05.
