Finally, confirmation - The xx are working on LP3.

In a new note uploaded to their Facebook, the trio have shared a playlist of inspirations on their third record, which they are “in the studio working on”, apparently. “t’s been a while but you’ve been on our minds!” they also promise, “it feels so good to be together making new music.” It’s all very lovely, to be honest. Really nice handwriting, too. We’re betting it’s Romy’s.

The xx recently confirmed their live return; they’re headlining Lollapalooza Brazil in 2017. From the looks of things, they’ve been in the studio since at least December last year, if not before. Busy bees, then. Stream their inspirations playlist below - it features everyone from Solange to Suicide. Suddenly LP3 is sounding very off-the-wall indeed.
