Joining a canonical legion of wide-reaching subjects - from ‘has the large hadron collider destroyed the world yet?’ to the post-#piggate marvel ‘has David Cameron tweeted yet?’ - there’s now another ‘has… yet’ website in the world. Next up - ‘has Shura finished her album yet?’
The answer at the moment is no, so sorry about that anybody manically refreshing the website. When we spoke to Shura at Reading she updated us on her debut progess. “I’m so slow!” she said. “I want to get it right, and when my album comes out, I won’t have written three hundred songs, and picked the ten best.”
As it goes, Shura also filled us in on a particularly flummoxing new side project taking up her time. “Me and Olly from Years & Years are going to do an interpretive dance to the entire score of The Bodyguard by Whitney Houston,” she told us, with a totally straight face. “He’s gunna be Whitney. I’ll be the bodyguard.” Alright then. You heard it here first.
Besides finishing her album, Shura also plays a DIY Presents gig in Liverpool as part of the city’s music week.
