These Ghosts preview new album with ‘Safe

Atmospheric cut marks These Ghosts out as a must-see new band at Latitude 2014.

Latitude’s by no means short of options when it comes to new bands. Earlier today we rounded up the big names ready to lay claim to the festival, but tucked away in The Alcove stage is a sea of gems. These Ghosts are sort-of locals to the Suffolk event - they grew up in the countryside and formed as a three-piece post-college.

Since their 2010 debut ‘You Are Not Lose, You Are Here’, their introspective, atmospheric take on things has only spiralled even further, skywards and so on. Latest track ‘Safe’ is a preview of their forthcoming second record, ‘Still The Waves’. A mix of reverb-drenched vocals and forward-leaning production, it becomes pensive before developing into a saw-toothed monster by its clattering conclusion.

We’re delighted to have the first play of ‘Safe’, below. See These Ghosts play Latitude’s The Alcove on Sunday 20th July. They also play Redfest (24th July), London’s Old Blue Last (9th August) and The Waiting Room, London (w/ Holy Esque - 27th August).

‘Still The Waves’ is released on NX Records / Accidental Records on 15th September.
