Tobias Jesso Jr. unveils new track, ‘Hollywood’

Vancouver newcomer Tobias Jesso Jr. is previewing an eventual debut LP with a new track, ‘Hollywood’.

Arriving after a batch of demos, ‘Hollywood’ follows on from the songwriter’s ‘Just a Dream’ and ‘True Love’ tracks, produced by Chet ‘JR’ White, formerly of Girls.

The song documents Tobias’ initial struggle in Los Angeles, where he first travelled in order to pursue a career in music. Dodgy backing band digs and a few dead ends left him low on hope, but so the story goes, after more personal struggles he took to a piano and penned the direct, affecting songs he’s fast becoming known for.

Tobias Jesso Jr.’s ‘Hollywood’ is streaming below. A debut album, ‘Goon’, is due out in early 2015 via True Panther Sounds.
